USG of Crisis:
Letitia Pullen The University of Melbourne Hugo Sasse La Trobe University Crisis Councils are very different to a normal Model UN Council. Primarily they are anchored in a historical event from the past, and delegates often represent only part of a nation or player in the event. Secondly, the crisis swiftly diverges from history as players are not expected to attempt to replicate historical events as they happened after the commencement of play. A Crisis Council consists of several playable ‘Cabinets’ which are several players combining to represent a nation taking part in the crisis. These cabinets may then form alliances or coalitions with other cabinets for the purpose of economic stability or military gains, and power blocks that are formed are placed in separate rooms such that secrecy can be ensured. |
